Former Ajax star Hakim Ziyech is anticipated to depart Stamford Bridge this summer, and Thomas Tuchel’s “preferred pick” to replace him is allegedly Rafael Leao of AC Milan.
Ziyech, though, has been strongly linked to a departure from Chelsea this summer, with Italian champions AC Milan expressing an interest in signing the attacker.
The Blues have already signed Raheem Sterling from Manchester City, but they are still looking to expand their alternatives up front.
Leao will only be allowed to leave AC Milan if his €150 million release clause is met, according to sources. AC Milan has no interest in selling Leao this summer.
The Portuguese star’s contract with the Italian team expires in the summer of 2024, but AC Milan and Leao have not yet reached an agreement on a new one since Leao demands a salary of €7 million year.
The 23-year-old attacker spent his first three seasons playing with AC Milan, where he played a significant role in their Scudetto-winning campaign in 2017.
