Five players are featured on the front page of Saturday’s Sport, with the assertion that they are all on the verge of signing with Barcelona.
The main guy is Robert Lewandowski, who is joined by Franck Kessie, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, and César Azpilicueta.
Christensen’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the month, and he, like Kessie, is expected to join Barcelona as a free agent. Barcelona is in negotiations with Bayern Munich about Lewandowski, and the other two Chelsea players are in good hands.
Alonso and Azpilicueta have ‘been signed for weeks,’ according to Sport, and it’s just a matter of reaching an agreement with the Premier League team. That’s a vital element of the transfer process, and the Catalan publication may be exaggerating on favor of their local team.
Still, there is optimism that the movements will take place, but there is now a recognition that they will cost Barcelona money.
As a result, they’ll need to plan some exits before completing all of the signings on their schedule.
