“Sorry but I am really confused” – Unbelievable news out of Chelsea this morning, says pundit

The transfer of Carney Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa to Chelsea hasn’t been warmly received by Lee Hendrie.

The Stamford Bridge team announced earlier this week on Twitter that they had reached an agreement on a price with Aston Villa for the 18-year-old talent.
Sky Sports claims that the cost is in the neighborhood of £20 million.

Chelsea formally announced on Twitter this morning that they had signed the Bodymoor Heath youngster to a six-year contract.

Steven Gerrard left Chukwuemeka off of his preseason trip, and there have been rumours that the young player wants to play adult football as soon as possible.

Hendrie, a former player for Aston Villa, is astounded that the youngster chose Chelsea over chances with the first team.
The Sky Sports analyst responded as follows on Twitter:

If he is determined to play senior football as soon as possible, it does seem dubious to transfer from Aston Villa to Chelsea since, well, West London has more barriers than the Midlands.

However, it’s conceivable that he has received guarantees from manager Thomas Tuchel that he would have chances to make an impression.

The potential of joining Borussia Dortmund was believed to have drawn the player in light of Jude Bellingham’s development into one of Europe’s top midfielders while just being 19 years old.

It would be interesting to watch how he does even if it could be a little harder to break through at Chelsea.
