Real Madrid has revealed what number Tchouameni will wear next season

Real Madrid has welcomed fresh, young blood the day after bidding farewell to the legendary Marcelo, with the official presentation of Aurelien Tchouameni, who signed a six-year deal with the club for a whopping 80 million euros from Monaco.

The club revealed what number he will wear for Los Blancos next season during his presentation on Tuesday.

The options that were available at the time were 12, 18, and 22.

Next season, Tchouameni will wear the number 18 for Real Madrid.
Tchouameni will wear number 18, as revealed by the club, as the number is now vacant following the departure of Gareth Bale. I’m not going to lie, I’m really looking forward to seeing him play. The number 18 doesn’t bring any more pressure because the previous two players to wear it were Gareth Bale and Luka Jovic, neither of whom were able to do anything in that shirt.

In the press conference after his presentation, Tchouameni explained why he chose the number 18.

The Frenchman stated that he prefers the number eight, but because Kroos already holds it, he selected the one that is closest to it.

Eduardo Camavinga was also found to have been in frequent contact with Tchouameni when the rumors first surfaced, telling him that he “needs to join Real Madrid.” This dude is fantastic:

Tchouameni seems like he’s already a fan favorite, and he hasn’t even played a minute or trained with the club yet. That’s what makes this deal so special: he’s simply expressing what the supporters want him to say. He’ll be a fantastic player, and I can’t wait to watch him play for the club when the season begins.
