Player says tearful goodbye to team before moving to Chelsea, (Video)

Raheem Sterling bid his last farewell to Manchester City in advance of his upcoming move to Chelsea, a Premier League rival.

In a moving parting statement, the 27-year-old conveyed his thanks to the Man City club, the fans, and the Etihad Stadium.

Sterling said on his official Twitter account, “Seven seasons, eleven major trophies, a lifetime of memories.”

“To the coaching staff, who have been incredibly important to my growth over the years. To the people, I share a pitch with who have grown to be my teammates. To the backroom crew, the administrative staff, the team’s devoted supporters, and everyone else associated with Manchester City There is no one I respect more than you.

What a journey it has been.

“I am grateful for both the highs and lows. Because the downs have occasionally put my fortitude and strength to the test. That made it possible for me to present myself to you in this place as the finest possible version of myself. I was 20 when I came in Manchester. I’m leaving today a guy. I appreciate your unending assistance. It has been a privilege to wear Manchester City’s crap.

After completing a £50 million transfer from Manchester’s blue half, Raheem Sterling is anticipated to shortly be introduced as a new Chelsea player.

He becomes the club’s first summer signing in the Premier League and the focal point of the Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital consortium period.

Sterling enjoyed a fruitful seven-year career with Manchester City, where he contributed to the club’s four Premier League titles, five Carabao Cup victories, and a single FA Cup triumph.

The 27-year-old made 339 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s squad and assisted on 226 goals. He had a significant role in the England team’s second-place finish at the 2018 European Championships.
