If Cesar Azpilicueta decides to depart the team in the upcoming months, Clauss would be viewed as a successor. The Frenchman apparently supports Chelsea, and his devotion might be a major factor in the deal. Atletico Madrid, a powerhouse in La Liga, is reportedly also in the running to recruit the 29-year-old, according to Kinsella.
