‘i love the team’ – Chelsea midfielder prepared to start the season after playing one game

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, a midfielder for Chelsea, was forced to remain home and practice with the younger squad rather than traveling with the club on its preseason tour of the United States.

The 2-0 victory over Udinese was Loftus-sole Cheek’s preseason game of the summer, and he has indicated he feels well heading into the new campaign.

In his first preseason game for the senior squad against Udinese, Loftus-Cheek commented, “I felt good, I felt fit.”

After missing the preseason tour, it was nice to reunite with the squad this week, but I’m in good health.

“With all the jogging we had to do, training with the Under-23s and the Under-18s was difficult. Sometimes it felt like a basketball game, so maybe that helped. But having two victories to start the season makes me feel good and is excellent for the squad.

“They made it difficult for us at times, but we’re a great team and when we move the ball, it’s really difficult for opponents. But like I said, we’re pleased with the victories, and it’s a successful finale to the preseason.
