Has the news of new Chelsea owners affected Chelsea? Tuchel answers
Todd Boehly, the new owner of Chelsea, was in the executive box at Stamford Bridge to see the clubface Wolves.
Boehly, who just signed a £4.25 billion deal with Chelsea, was looking for a win for his squad but was shocked when Conor Coady equalized in the 97th minute to force a draw.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel was asked after the game if his squad had struggled to focus following the announcement of a takeover.
“I don’t think ownership is a factor for lack of attention,” Tuchel answered.
“We demonstrated that we can remain focused when the circumstance arose. This is not a benefit for Leeds because the sanctions are not lifted, thus it makes no difference to us.
“It’s not worth thinking about; we’ve got our own problems to address and improve.”
“I heard the news this morning when in the middle of my match routine, so I had no emotion.” I haven’t spoken to anyone yet, but I was going through my morning ritual.
“I don’t check my phone or scan the headlines throughout my routine, and I always do since I have a lot on my plate.” I do what I do, which is try to prepare as well as possible for the match.”
