After many weeks of discussions, Chelsea and Manchester City have come to an agreement for Chelsea to pay £47.5 million to acquire Raheem Sterling.
Raheem Sterling and Chelsea have already reached a personal agreement on a five-year deal with an additional 12-month option.
The 27-year-old has reached an agreement on a contract worth £300,000 a week, making him Chelsea’s highest paid player.
The preparations for a medical in London are now moving at high speed. The squad has already flown to the US, so Sterling will join his new teammates there when this is over for their preseason tour.
Sterling reportedly talked with Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel about what it’s like to live there and his alleged position on the squad.
The German coach’s ambition for the team pleased the England international, according to The Athletic.
Sterling spent seven years with Manchester City after leaving Liverpool in a £44 million move. During that time, he scored 131 goals in 339 appearances for the Premier League winners.
The agreement has also been verified by reporter Fabrizio Romano.
