Before the 2022–2023 La Liga season, Dani Ceballos has committed to staying at Real Madrid.
Although Ceballos’ future is still up in the air, Los Blancos enter the upcoming season as the reigning European and Spanish champions.
The former Real Betis schemer made only two league starts in 2022 after rejoining the team last summer as Carlo Ancelotti’s team came within striking distance of winning two major championships.
If Ancelotti decides to sell Ceballos, he might depart for first team football as he enters the final year of his contract at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
Despite the entrance of Aurelien Tchouameni, Ceballos is still certain of his position and eager to have an effect.
In a conversation with Cadena SER, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, “The coach placed his faith in me in the latter stretch of 2021/22 and that’s crucial.”
“Now the crucial thing is to have a strong preseason, since I believe I can earn a lot of minutes,” the player said.
Despite his optimism for the months to come in Madrid, the 25-year-old made a suggestion that he would be open to returning to Real Betis in the future.
He said that maintaining his chances of being selected for the La Roja World Cup squad requires a consistent spot in Ancelotti’s plans.
After making a brief comeback in 2020 while on loan at Arsenal, Ceballos hasn’t played for the national side since.
