Cristiano Ronaldo says he’s in ‘holiday mode’ now that he’s officially off for the summer.
After participating for Portugal in the UEFA Nations League at the conclusion of the season, when he upped his international goal count to 117, the Manchester United superstar is taking a well-deserved break.
The 37-year-old posted a photo from a yacht with his 455 million Instagram followers, showcasing his still-impressive body.
Yesterday, Ronaldo tweeted a photo of himself and his family, who were spending time together during their summer vacation.
Despite the team’s troubles, Ronaldo concluded last season as Manchester United’s leading striker with 24 goals.
United will begin pre-season training on June 27, with Ronaldo may be getting a few more days off owing to his international heroics. It would not surprise me if he arrived early.
However, Ronaldo’s position under Erik ten Hag appears secure, with the new manager declaring that he is willing to put his whole trust in him to produce in 2022/23. The club’s inability to recruit a striker thus far is more evidence of this.
United’s season will begin on August 7 at Old Trafford, when the Red Devils meet Brighton, as announced earlier today. By that time, Ronaldo should have a bit more support in the form of fresh additions.
He’s clearly still in great form, and all he needs now is a little additional aid and expertise to enable him to beat this season’s total. However, following a terrible 2021/22, he will benefit much from this opportunity to recuperate physically and emotionally.
