Cristiano Ronaldo broke Real Madrid promise to Man Utd which raises serious transfer concerns for the club

Cristiano Ronaldo has already betrayed Manchester United by announcing his intention to join Real Madrid in 2009. After arriving for £80 million a few weeks later, he was at the Bernabeu, and the same thing may happen again.

United may find it difficult to trust Ronaldo this summer, given Real Madrid’s interest in the transfer market. A return to the Bernabeu has been suggested for the Portuguese superstar.

After winning the Champions League and La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti is a major fan of the 37-year-old and would want to add him to his side. It would only help them recover their title from the previous season.

It’s an attractive notion that must have crossed Ronaldo’s mind, especially as he prepares to participate in a competition he’s never played in before and likely won’t in the Europa League. Last season, the Red Devils had a terrible season, finishing with their lowest point total ever.
Ronaldo, on the other hand, has stated that he is not leaving and that he is looking forward to working with Erik ten Hag this month. “Not only the players, but also the fans, are delighted and enthusiastic. I wish him the best of luck, and let’s hope we win trophies next year “he stated

“For me, the most important thing is to win games and to win a title or a cup, but I believe Manchester will return to their rightful place. As I already stated, it takes time, but I continue to believe.”

United had been in a similar situation before, in 2009, when Ronaldo insisted on staying put despite strong interest from Real Madrid. In May, he stated: “I’m at United right now and don’t care what happens [at Real Madrid]. I’m just interested in what happens at Manchester United next season.”

Ronaldo was sporting the famed white less than a month later, and the rest is history. Fast forward 13 years, and the scenario is nearly same.

Could the five-time Ballon d’Or winner turn down a hefty offer from Real? Would he be willing to fly across Europe to face Ludogorets and Dinamo Zagreb, for example? Ronaldo may claim he wants to stay at Old Trafford, but his word hasn’t always been taken seriously.

Last season, the veteran striker was United’s most significant player, scoring 24 goals across all competitions, including six in the Champions League. It’s a tournament the striker cherishes, and one in which he’s anxious to cement his legacy.

One in which he is so eager to participate that he may be willing to break his pledges once more.
