Chelsea to sign three England stars as new owners ‘want to make a statement’

According to TV broadcaster Richard Keys, Chelsea’s new owners “intend to make a statement” this summer by building an English spine at Stamford Bridge. Todd Boehly, an American billionaire, is expected to buy Chelsea, and Keys believes the Blues will make three major acquisitions this summer.
The 46-year-old inked a purchase deal with the west London club, which was unveiled over the weekend. Following fines issued by the UK government, current owner Roman Abramovich was obliged to sell.

Boehly might have a big first window in command, according to Keys. He’s heard that Chelsea wants to construct their team around English players, therefore he’s chosen three guys he thinks may join the Champions League holders.

Chelsea has been interested in Declan Rice of West Ham United for numerous years, and they were also interested in Tottenham attacker Harry Kane last year. Both players make Keys’ list, but Manchester United captain Harry Maguire, who has had a terrible season with the Red Devils, is the most surprise inclusion.
“Here’s one to keep an eye on,” Keys said on his blog. The typical rebuttals will be leveled at what I’m going to say, but how many times have we been proven correct in this blog?

“I keep hearing Chelsea want to go back — and develop an English spine in their team.” The new owners will be looking for a way to make a statement, and this may be it.

“They require a center-back.” Harry Maguire, perhaps? What would he set you back? 40-50 million pounds? He’d probably leap at the chance for a fresh start.
