Breaking: West Ham make decision after Chelsea target snubs their £83m offer

Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be the two teams most interested in signing Declan Rice from West Ham this summer.

After rejecting a lucrative contract offer from West Ham, the 23-year-old has hinted that he may desire to leave the Hammers for a larger club.

Rice’s contract has two years left on it, with West Ham having the option to extend it for another 12 months until 2025.

Rice turned down a contract for $200,000 per week, which would have made him West Ham’s highest-paid player.

The contract is expected to be worth £83 million over eight years.

Rice has been assured that additional negotiations concerning his future will take place when the summer transfer window closes.

Chelsea’s new owners are rumored to be interested in making some high-profile signings, and the club may try to entice the 23-year-old this summer.
