After Willian’s fail, Manchester United are afraid of signing a Chelsea player

N’Golo Kante, a Chelsea midfielder whose contract expires in a year, has been heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United.

United’s new manager, Erik ten Hag, wants to bolster his midfield this summer, following the departures of Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba.

According to The Telegraph, United’s management is losing interest in signing Kante and would prefer to sign a younger midfielder.

According to the source, the 31-year-old Kante has proven prone to injury in recent years, and United consider his move as a danger.

It goes on to say that Arsenal’s choice to get Willian on a free transfer from Chelsea has been referenced as an example of the ‘pitfalls’ of adding high-profile, seasoned players on huge salaries near Old Trafford.
Willian was hired to a three-year contract for roughly £240,000 per week, making him one of Arsenal’s highest-paid players, but he departed the club by mutual agreement barely 12 months into his contract.

Willian’s time with the Gunners was short-lived, with only one goal in 16 Premier League appearances.
